SUMMER 2023 - Instructional Aide for Torri Smith
UT103: the Incomplete City

The Incomplete City is a workshop taken as a co-requisite with UT102: Anatomy of the City in Taubman College's Urban Technology program. Groups of students are situated in "stakeholder" groups, each hypothetically belonging to and living in a neighborhood.
Torri and I introduced or suggested certain structural parameters for the students to build their city: a transportation commission, physical limitations of residents (a neighborhood for people recovering from an ACL tear, for example), etc.

This course was taught with the help and feedback from Bryan Boyer and Philip D'Aneiri. Each iteration of the course, whether at Michigan, the Bartlett, or elsewhere marks some evolution in curriculum, findings, and expectations. Torri and I would agree that it is as much a learning experience for the instructors as it is for the students.
